A temporary art exhibition at the Gaasbeek Castle, until 20.11.2012
Curated by Oscar van den Boogaard
Commissioned by Sien
Set designed by Marcos Viñals Bassols
Everyone probably knows it, this bittersweet feeling that encompasses both longing and addiction. A longing or nostalgia for something which can be both concrete and intangible. The German word implies longing as well as ‘agony’. That is why sometimes it hurts, even physically. But often it is a ‘nice’ feeling, which is cherished.
The concept of the set design for this temporary exhibition responds to this nostalgic feeling by filtering all natural and artificial light in deep blue, magnifying the absolutely magnificent contemporary artwork installed in this monochromed medieval atmosphere.
